I've never been huge on shower games so immediately I knew I wanted to have a DIY using Essential Oils at my baby shower. I also wanted to find a way to incorporate my painting style into it. I quickly decided a signature scent in honor of Everley Scout was the perfect DIY for all of my (and soon to be Everley's) favorite people to remember her (first) big day!
My fellow oily (guru) friend Marlo and I spent a few "meetings" finding our top, middle, and base notes to get the perfect blend. Jasmine was my first choice and we worked to get other notes to blend with it for a perfect Everley-esque harmony. We decided that scent was Jasmine, Neroli, Ylang Ylang and Elemi. After we had the scent down I got a bright idea that this was also how I wanted to do a name reveal. We planned on waiting until she was born, but this idea made me way to happy not to! So I ordered some custom labels on Etsy with her name and some "boutique" style perfume rollers just to make them extra jazzy. I decided that the perfume bottle needed a cute little pouch and that is how I chose to incorporate my love of painting. So I sat down at my work station and individually painted little muslin pouches. This would coordinate with the glasses, original inspiration painting, and cookies. See all of it here on my original shower post. I also incorporated the original painting as the background to our DIY instructions. I am so happy with how this turned out. Marrying my love for essential oils, party planning, painting, and of course my baby girl was a true dream! All photos c/o the amazing Acqua Photo
